So, who's this girl who wears many hats?

And what makes SONGYARD PHOTOGRAPHY special and unique and separate from everyone else?

Well, it's very simple.

Four years ago, while writing my first novel,                                        I decided to self-publish but needed a cover. Instead of having a graphic artist create an illustration for the book, I asked a few former students of mine if they would be interested in taking part in this project (I'm a teacher by trade). Little did I know that the first photo shoot would change the dynamics of not only my novel, but the direction of an underlying talent/passion I really didn't know I had - photography.

So, while I continued with my novel, which I finally self-published in 2018, I slowly began my photography business - four senior photo shoots. With each year that followed, more graduating seniors were added to my cliental list as well as many families, who I came to know - some of who I have watched their children grow over the years. 

​

Now, walking into my 5th year as a photographer - camera around my neck, words cannot express how grateful I am to all those who have given me the opportunity to capture those moments in their lives.

It is because of them - YOU - that makes Songyard Photography what it is today, and for that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Why Songyard?

​

When I decided to self-publish The Will of Time, I needed to create a business name - one that would encompass the very essence of my life. So, after long contemplation, the word SONGYARD popped into my head.

​

SONGYARD combines two things that take me back to my childhood - singing and my backyard. SINGING has a very special place in my heart - maybe because my singing voice was gifted to me by my grandfather - and my grandmother, who loved to hear me sing but has now passed from Alzheimer's. YARD comes from all the plays and performances I gave in my backyard growing up. It was always my stage - my place of limitless imagination.
